Back from Bled

Well the annual pilgrimage to Lake Bled in Slovenia has come and gone with the usual set of angling problems. Some chronic bad weather and a flood on the campsite left my bivvy under 6 inches of water and feeling really glad I put the bait in cardboard boxes. No night fishing meant that I was lucky to get 4 hours sleep a night and a hot meal, don't mention the toilets. Well done to Steve and Malc though who stuck with it and had about 20 fish to near forties. I had at least 20 chub and fishing the margins proved hopeless. The lads went for 50 feet of water at 180 yards and did pretty well on the spice UPX.
The pop-ups worked very well and an 18mm bait is so bouyant it actually lifts up an 18mm bottom bait as well. Most of the lads fish were on snowman presentations.
A fair bit of the purple monster bait has gone out and feedback is starting to come in. The reddish version is proving the more poular but it might be because it is on the 15mm. I have had to order more purple dye and may do a few more test baits with Nash before returning to it. I want to try a Winter A - amber attract with pineapple zing. This is a bait I have done very well on in the past and would be an ideal substitute for the A1. Also I have been trying to replicate the Red Bull flavour for about a year, I am now very close to getting it right , it will be interesting to see how well it works but a few of the components are proven catchers.
I have revamped the website a bit and all the products are available at the moment.
I have also had A Bait bags printed up and most of the baits will now be supplied in these in 5kg amounts.
tight lines
Jay
