The new Purple monsters should have been with us this week but Nash have been undergoing a major modernisation and they should be with us by the end of next week, 10Th July. The bait is untested and is available at cost price originally. However, every component of the bait is a winner and sure to be a really good fish catcher.
I have been trialing a low pH liquid which has proved to be a very big success. For various reasons I was not keen on it to start with but cannot ignore the results and it has left me with a problem in what to do with it. Most of the trials have been on the Spice UPX and it has made the bait darker and a bit softer. I have decided not to trial it in the plum zing as this bait has been incredibly consistent and as it took a while to get it spot on I am reluctant to ever change it. The A Plex is the ideal candidate really as the vanilla and coconut powders are non soluble and a bit of extra softness will be counteracted easily, the darker shade will not be a problem either as this is quite a light coloured bait. This is easily the most complicated nut bait out there but everything is in there for a reason and I think with the new additions it will be equally as good as the other baits in its own right. The new stock of this will start arriving in about 2 weeks time.
I have one more batch of experimental UPX arriving on Monday and this is rolled with half powder, half liquid additives.
I must stress that nobody will get an experimental bait unless they ask for it and all bait sent out will be to the original recipe.
I am keeping the prices of all the baits at £5.50 but have as we speak ordered A Bait printed 5kg bags. The cost of each bag is about 20p but I will absorb the cost. With the cost of enzyme fish meal going up again I may have to go to £6 a kilo later in the year but there will be no massive jumps "just because the bait is now well known".
I have also started a range of pop-ups suitable for more buoyant presentations and these are all on my own flavour blends and available on the website at www.booksoncarp.co.uk in 18mm and five different colours.
Flavours are also now in 250ml bottles at £12.50 which again is a lot more competitive than the 50ml bottles in the tackle shops.
The dates for my Slovenia trip are still unsettled but I intend to do 9 days at the end of July, start of August.
Tight lines
Jay
