If April and May belonged to the Spice UPX, June has started with a bang for the Plum Zing. This week it has accounted for one of the biggest braces of commons ever, if not the biggest. Congratulations to Mark who is still out at Teilats now, who on Tuesday had commons of 76-08 and 68lbs just twelve hours apart! (pictures to follow at http://carp-bait.blogspot.com/.
The top rods on the lake have used the Plum Zing on no less then four occasions this year so far.
I have just collected the last roll of strawberry amber for a while, due to it's colour and reputation as a winter bait it can take a long time to produce at this time of year. In it's place I will be doing the Monster Pursuit mix with the Spice UPX flavour combo. Instead of the normal Robin Red this bait will be finished on a dark purple, similar to the bait I did for the winter shows. The bait with the normal additive inclusion is sure to be a winner and a popular choice.
Just a short update this time as I have not managed to do very much fishing or testing, May was an incredibly busy month for bait and it is nice to see some photos coming in for the catch blog. Pictured above are Gary and Rob who both had great results from very tricky venues.
Tight lines for the rest of June
Jay
