At last the weather is starting to improve and the count down has begun to my first trip accross the channel. I am only looking at 18 days before heading off to Jo Jo's and will be away for the best part of a month. Sandwiched between a trip to my favourite venue Domaine De Boux I will also be getting a bit of sun in Cairo.
I have four baits that I want to try out and only two trips to do it in! For the purpose of the trial I will be fishing the Plum Zing and the new A Plex together at Jo Jo's and the Spice UPX and a new bait from Nash together at Boux. Fishing two diferent baits together is not something I have done a lot of in the past but I am looking forward to see which one will come out on top.
The A Plex base mix is something I have used on and off for years and I have a lot of faith in it. The logistics of getting it rolled at a competitive price has been a headache and I have sourced a similar basemix that for the time being is ideal for the trial. The base I am now using is based on nuts, birdfood and milks which will complement the sweetness of the new powders and liquid combo. I will still be adding the "A" Bait additives at the same inclusion levels but the new powders should hopefully add a new dimension and is something I am a little excited about. The flavour combo is Burnt sugar with a hint of coconut, Banana oil palatant and ginger essential oil, the bait will be left the natural colour of the dry ingredients. Some of the A Plex should be available to order before I leave for France, in 15mm and 18mm.
The plum ing is in stock and more of this will be collected on thursday along with the Spice UPX in 15mm and 18mm. I will also book further rolls to arrive before my departure.
The A1 will be available from tomorrow (tues 2nd) in 15mm but most of this is subscribed already and the rest will be on a first served basis.
